Some people prefer Campagnolo, others Shimano and then some more like SRAM. However they all love talking about bikes on the Internet.

So I left the BT/Ribbit Tug-boat and started my own outboard engine. I’ll be doing various things, predominantly at the intersection of web, mobile and publishing under the banner of ‘the. consulting’ which you can check out at http://www.thedotconsulting.com. I’ll also be announcing another project in the coming months so check back!

I don’t normally do this but, this app is brilliant. It allows you to track, live your GPS location and save the route traversed back in a number of formats plus use someone else’s route as a track to follow. But the killer bit is: you can download all the mapping data (road, OS etc) beforehand on WiFi. Full of win for walkers/cyclers/drivers/skiers etc.

So your mobile carrier doesn’t support Apple’s ‘game-changing’ visual voicemail service? no problem! Voicemail is exactly the same service using Ribbit to complement your carrier, furthermore you get voice transcription and email, Skype or chat notification! The app is free, it works online, offline and natively on your iOS, Android or Blackberry device. All you need is a FREE Ribbit account.

So I created a place to collect and publish mobile web-apps that run ‘natively’ in iOS etc. I challenged myself to release an app a day for a week and, do you know what? I did it (nearly). Check it out.
